Free Paver Patio Plans: 6 Layouts With Sizes, Seating and Materials

Free paver patio plans
Six patio layouts we build again and again, drawn to scale by a hardscape contractor. Each one shows the size, seating, paver pattern and where it sits against the house, with a link to its full material list and cost. Use them to pick a size, or as a starting point for your own plan.
10×12 bistro patio
A landing-size patio right off the back door. Big enough for a bistro table and a grill, small enough to build in a weekend with a crew.
12×16 dining patio
The most-asked-for size. A table for six with room to pull chairs out and walk behind them, plus a soldier-course border that hides the cuts.
16×20 patio + seat wall
A dining zone and a lounge zone, with a 20 in. seat wall that holds back the slope and seats a crowd without extra chairs.
18 ft round fire pit patio
Room for six deep chairs with their back legs on the pavers, not in the grass. A path ties it back to the house or main patio.
20×24 two-zone patio
Dining and grill near the house, fire pit at the far end, split by a contrasting paver band. One patio that works for a weeknight and a party.
L-shaped wraparound
A 14×16 dining area joined to a 10×12 lounge around a house corner, with a low wall on the open sides. Great when two doors open onto the yard.
Want one of these drawn for your yard?
These plans show sizes and layouts. Your yard has its own slope, doors, trees and drainage. We’ll draw yours to scale from photos and measurements, with a material list you can build from. Single Space $349, Full Yard $895.
Pick a size
Start from how many people sit out there, not from what looks big on the lawn. Our patio size guide has the chart.
Check the slope
Every patio pitches about ¼ in. per foot away from the house. On a steep yard, that may mean a seat wall or steps. See patio slope.
Price the materials
Each plan links to its full material list. Or run any size through the free paver calculator.
Questions
Can I build directly from these plans?
They’re layout plans for picking a size and arrangement. Before you build, check your own slope, doors, utilities and drainage. A plan drawn for your yard covers all of that.
Are the plans really free?
Yes. Use them, print them, share them. A link back is appreciated.
What base do these patios need?
A compacted crushed-stone base, usually 4 to 6 in. under a patio and more in freeze-thaw climates or on soft soil. See how deep a paver base should be.
