Pick a size that fits your yard.

The Patio for Williamsport comes in three sizes: up to 180, 250 and 350 square feet, built in 2, 3 and 4 crew days. Our patio size guide helps you pick one before the site walk.

Patio Plus for Williamsport is the same patio with one built-in extra: a 12-foot capped seat wall or a 44-inch paver fire pit with a steel insert. It’s sized to seat 6 to 8.

On a sloped lot, a raised patio on a block wall makes the flat ground, like the one we built in Dunnstown.

What goes under the pavers.

A patio is only as flat as the stone under it. In our patio packages that is 6 inches of compacted 2A modified, also called crusher run, with 1 inch of bedding sand on top.

An edge restraint holds the perimeter, polymeric sand locks the joints, and the whole surface is pitched away from the house so rain runs off instead of toward the foundation. You can pick a running-bond or herringbone pattern.

Our paver base depth guide explains the layers, and the Lock Haven paver patio page has the full build details.

Hot tub pads and patios together.

Our Spa Patio for Williamsport puts the tub on an 8 by 8 foot reinforced concrete pad, 4 inches thick with rebar, with a paver patio around it and one paver step up.

A conduit sleeve for your electrician is part of the package. For more on the pad and the patio around it, read our guide on hot tubs and pavers.

Compact lots in South Williamsport

Bald Eagle Mountain to the south and the river to the north have kept South Williamsport compact, so most lots are small and the hillside streets climb quickly.

Hot tubs in Montoursville

The borough’s zoning permit requirement names hot tubs, decks, and patio and porch enclosures, along with every other type of construction.

Front yards in Muncy

Muncy requires a zoning permit before any structure or land is built on or altered, and accessory structures may not go in front of the main building.

Source

Gravel under Montoursville yards

The Tunkhannock terrace soils mapped in Montoursville carry more than 35 percent rock fragments, so expect rounded gravel and cobbles when digging a patio base.

Source

Wet spots near Hughesville

Poorly drained Shelmadine silt loam is mapped around Hughesville. The USDA describes a dense fragipan starting roughly 18 to 30 inches down and high runoff potential, so patios on those spots need a deeper, drained base.

Questions.

How many days will the crew be in my yard?

For The Patio it’s 2 crew days at up to 180 square feet, 3 at up to 250 and 4 at up to 350. Those are days of work on site, and a stretch of rain can move them.

What does a paver patio cost in Williamsport?

Each patio package has a fixed price on its Williamsport package page, and that price is confirmed on a free 15-minute site walk before anything is signed. Custom patios get a written price after we measure. Each package page also shows monthly-payment examples, with approved credit.

Do I need a permit for a hot tub patio in Montoursville?

Yes, a zoning permit. Montoursville requires one for all types of construction and lists hot tubs by name. You apply through the borough office and pay the fee.

Which way should a patio slope?

Away from the house. Every patio package is pitched so rainwater sheds off the pavers and away from the foundation, not back toward it.

Is lawn repair around the new patio included?

Not unless the contract lists it. Lawn repair, grading beyond the work area and planting are extras, so ask for them at the estimate if you want the edges seeded or a bed planted.
